Terrell Glenn Called to Lead St. Andrew’s City Church

Dear St. Andrew’s Family,

It is with great pleasure that I share with you the good news that The Rt. Rev’d Terrell Glenn has accepted the call to be the Campus Pastor/Lead Pastor at St. Andrew’s City Church.  Terrell is married to Teresa and together they have three children, Terrell, Ellison, (m. Carter Harrison), and Cecilia.  Terrell is a graduate of both The University of South Carolina and Virginia Theological Seminary.  He has had a long association with St. Andrew’s, having served as Rector from 1990-1999.

In the years since his departure from St. Andrew’s, Terrell has held a number of leadership positions on local, national and international levels.  Terrell was elected as a missionary bishop in 2008 and played a significant role in the development of Anglican Church in North America.  In addition to serving as Rector of St. Andrew’s he has also served as Rector of All Saints, Pawleys Island, Planting Pastor/Rector at Church of the Apostles in Raleigh, NC, and Planting Pastor/Rector at Church of the Apostles in Houston, TX, where he currently serves.  As bishop Terrell oversaw a mission network of 54 churches and worked to raise up and mentor next generation leadership. Additionally, he continues to exercise leadership in the College of Bishops where he serves as Dean of College Affairs.  Teresa has also been a partner in ministry with particular gifts for teaching and mentoring women. This past fall saw the release of Teresa’s new book, Becoming a Peaceful Mom: Through Every Season of Raising Your Child.

Having known Terrell for almost two decades I have seen firsthand the fruit of his life and ministry.  I believe that God has gifted Terrell to be a preacher/teacher/shepherd in His Church. Accordingly, God has entrusted to Terrell the ministry gifts of preaching, teaching, and leadership – gifts he has used for the building up of the body of Christ. I think it is this gift mix along with his seasoned wisdom and partnership with Teresa that has made Terrell the right person at the right time to take the helm at St. Andrew’s City Church.

Please join me in welcoming Terrell to his new position.  You may reach him at TGlenn@standrews.church.  I expect Terrell’s start date to be 1 June 2017.

Dear Steve,

It is with great joy that I accept the call to serve as Campus Pastor/Lead Pastor of St. Andrew’s City Church. Several years ago, when I first learned about this unique, creative and effective ministry that was begun in Charleston by St. Andrew’s, I was thrilled to see yet another bold step taken in the name of Christ by the church family that Teresa and I have always loved. I am honored to be given the privilege of being yoked with you in ministry and in leading City Church.

Please keep us in your prayers as we communicate this news to our church family here in Houston. Teresa and I eagerly await our first Sunday with City Church and are filled with anticipation over what God will do among us all.

Blessings,

Terrell
