Free Medical Clinic
Since 1983, St. Andrew’s Church has served residents of Mt. Pleasant with a free medical clinic.
Tuesday Evenings
5 – 7 pm
Located under Sams Hall
The goal of the Mt Pleasant clinic has always been to serve our neighbors who do not have health insurance of any kind. A large segment of our population that works does not have employer provided insurance. They can’t afford insurance through the Affordable Health Care Act and they make too much to qualify for Medicaid. They could be underinsured, between jobs, or they could be employed in seasonal work. The Medical Clinic fills their need for routine, non-emergency care. A physician, a nurse practitioner, or a physician’s assistant staff the clinic each Tuesday evening and they are assisted by physician assistant students.
You do not need to be a member of the church, nor is there any expectation that you attend St. Andrews if you receive care. The clinic is located under Sams Hall – the fellowship hall that faces Whilden Street. Patients are accepted on first-come, first-served basis every Tuesday evening, 5-7 pm. The clinic is closed on July 4 and December 23 – January 1.

Serving in the Clinic
Members of St. Andrew’s as well as non-members are needed to serve in the Mt. Pleasant clinic. Medical professionals must be currently licensed in the state of South Carolina.
Specialists and Referrals: The clinic is always in need of specialists in order to refer patients for care that cannot be handled in the clinic. If you agree to take referrals, we only ask that you take no more than one patient each month. If you are interested in receiving referrals from the clinic, please contact Mary Bebensee (MimiPB@aol.com).
