“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
~Jesus, Luke 4.18

Prayer and Healing at St. Andrew’s

It has been said, “The church is a hospital, a family, an army, and a school.” As the body of Christ, St. Andrew’s purposefully co-labors with Jesus as a hospital, tending to the broken places in people’s lives by coming alongside them demonstrating Jesus’ care and healing love. If you find yourself struggling with an addiction, depression, or an unbearable grief; if you are hurting spiritually, in need of physical healing, or struggling with any other difficult circumtance, this page will tell you what help St. Andrew’s has to offer and how to find that help.

If you would like more information regarding our prayer and healing ministries – or if you would like to receive healing prayer – please contact John Burley (843.284.4326 or JBurley@StAndrews.Church).

St. Andrew’s Community through LifeGroups

Jesus said, “In this life you will have trouble.” Everyone goes through times of intense struggles and suffering. As a church, we are intentional about encouraging everyone to be involved in a small group (i.e., a “LifeGroup”) so that when, not if, you face a difficult life situation, you will have the love, care, and prayer support you need. LifeGroups at St. Andrew’s are diverse communities of people who want to grow as followers of Jesus and experience the blessing that God bestows when His followers are relationally transparent and choose to live life together.

Prayer Ministry

During our worship services we offer prayer ministry as we seek to connect each prayer recipient to the presence and power of Jesus Christ. Our prayer ministry teams are trained in prayer and in listening to the Lord. Individuals with every need and condition are encouraged to receive from the Lord all that He has to give to them.
If you would like to join the Prayer Ministry team you may contact John Burley (843.284.4326 or JBurley@StAndrews.Church).

Ananias Prayer

The aim of Ananias Prayer is to offer prayer for inner healing and healing of memories. It was established as a ministry of St. Andrew’s for those who need a deeper touch of the Holy Spirit for life issues relating to grief, addictions, emotional wounds, habitual destructive life patterns, etc. Our Ananias Prayer team members have received extensive training and are gifted at coming along side those who are hurting and seeking freedom. As an extension of pastoral care, our goal is to help people achieve wholeness in all aspects of their lives. We believe this is accomplished by helping people break free from areas of sin as they experience God’s healing power working on their behalf.

Prophetic Ministry

The clear teaching of the New Testament is that God gives spiritual gifts to the church for the common good and to empower her for ministry and mission. Prophecy is one such spiritual gift and the Bible is replete with examples of prophetic ministry. The Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth – and by extension to all Christians – that they should, “earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy” (1 Corinthians 14.1). As a church we seek to be obedient to Scripture. The goal of our Prophetic Ministry team is not to predict the future. Nor do we seek new revelation from God as He has spoken finally and perfectly in Jesus Christ. Instead, we gather around God’s Word and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the application of God’s Word to the needs and circumstances of folk’s lives.

Our Prophetic Ministry team meets weekly seeking the Lord’s direction on needs/issues within the congregation that are then shared on our website. Additionally, individuals have the opportunity to make an appointment with our Prophetic Ministry team for a time of personal prayer. Read this week’s prophetic words.

Soaking Prayer

  • Second Friday of each month
  • 9:45 am – 11 am
  • Sams Hall (location subject to change)

Psalm 46:10 instructs us to “be still, and know that I am God.”
Soaking prayer is when we intentionally make space in our busy lives to rest in the presence of the Holy Spirit. It is a time for us to be nourished, asking the Lord to fill and renew our souls, so our hearts will overflow with God’s joy, peace, and love.

We will begin promptly at 9:45 am with prayer and a reading from Psalms, followed by soaking music until 11 am. Please bring a towel, pillow, exercise mat, etc. so you are comfortable as we rest on the floor. Feel free to fall asleep in sanctified rest.

To learn more about Soaking Prayer, please contact Jessica Paulsen (paulsenjessica@yahoo.com or 843.696.4945).

Intercessory Prayer Ministry

Intercessory prayer happens when we gather together in prayer before the Lord. To intercede means to ask God for something on someone’s behalf: praying for His will to come – His kingdom to come in the lives of our families, friends and city, etc. We host a variety of intercessory prayer groups at St. Andrew’s, from groups that pray for our weekend services to groups that pray for our ministries and missions to our regular meetings of general intercession. Three of these groups may be of particular interest to you:

Wellspring

Before, during and after each Sunday worship service we have intercessors praying for every aspect of the service and congregation. If you would like to be a part of this team please contact Beth Murray (BethMurray@MurrayMPSC.net).

Prayer Chain

Do you like to pray but are unable to participate in scheduled meetings? You can join your prayers to other intercessors by receiving an emailed prayer list keeping you informed of the needs and developments within our church and community. Send an email to Prayer@StAndrews.Church to join the list or to send a prayer request.

Third Fridays

A group meets the third Friday of each month at 10 am in Middleton Chapel to pray for our city, state, and nation. For more information contact Wendy Grams (wdgrams@yahoo.com).

Prayer Requests

Send an email to Prayer@StAndrews.Church to have your name and need listed on our prayer list.
